Roaring Dragon | Part 1: Designing the Head

 Starting a new series here and in this one I'm going to create a sculpture of a roaring dragon. This should be a fun one so enjoy!

 

Back to posting art videos and I wanted to kick this one off with a dragon sculpture I worked on last year. I'm a big fan of dragons and drew a good number of them as a kid. Ironically I've haven't sculpted that many dragons over the years. This project took a lot longer than I expected but in the end I'm pretty happy with the results. I used Monster Clay for the majority of the dragon, plastic beads for the eyes and a translucent polymer clay for the teeth.

Sea Dragon - WIP Pics

I had an itch to sculpt a dragon but I wanted to do something different then the traditional dragon artwork that is available today. This sculpture will be of a sea dragon and I plan to add a sea landscape and some fish to the sculpture.

I still have a long ways to go on this one but here is what I have come up with so far.
